Director of Development, Research, Innovation & Impact

The Director of Development’s focus is on securing private support for objectives within the office for Research, Innovation and Impact. This includes support for priorities at outlined and documented within the annual Development Plan including support for associated Institutes and Centers. This position is subject to joint management by RII and the University of Arizona Foundation as specified in the Development Services and Asset Management Agreement dated August 2016.

The Director works in cooperation with the University of Arizona Foundation’s (Foundation) Leadership Team, the Senior Vice President, Research and Innovation, the Chief of Staff, Research, Innovation and Impact, and other campus leaders, as well as University Alumni Development Program (UADP) colleagues, including scholarship administration, foundation relations, gift planning, stewardship, events, and college based frontline fundraisers. The Director is a frontline fund raiser focused on the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospective major gift ($25,000+) donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.

The Director will report directly to the Vice President for Development and has a dotted line report to the Chief of Staff of the office of Research Innovation and Impact.
